English style Barleywine with Raspberries, Cherries, & Blueberries Aged in Bourbon & Red Wine Barrels
Hedgerow is a Barleywine meant to celebrate the fruity and floral characteristics of Barleywine while imparting some flavors and aromas traditionally found in Red Wine. We ferment the beer on Raspberries, Cherries, and Blueberries to develop the bright acid character of Red Wine then we age half of the beer in Malbec Wine Barrels. The other half of the beer ages in a blend of Bourbon Barrels to add a touch of Vanilla and Coconut character to the complex Caramel, Toffee, and Fig malt flavors. After aging for more than a year the beer is blended to create something that transcends beer and wine and creates something all together unique.
